Our highly qualified and experienced teaching staff are available to provide support and advice via telephone and email throughout the course and during the supplementary session to make sure all students succeed in gaining their qualification. Success in this qualification will act as a valuable step in accessing Dental Hygiene and Therapy courses.
Course Content
The course follows the syllabus set out by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) and covers the role of the Oral Health Educator and includes topics such as Communication Methods as well
as Oral Diseases and physiology.
Students will:
- Provide oral health advice in the workplace to a variety of patient groups
- Complete a Record of Competence (RoC) detailing the advice given
- Successfully complete a written multiple-choice exam
Entry Requirements
- Qualified and GDC Registered Dental Nurse
- Working in a dental practice
- Access to a variety of patient groups
- support of their dentist acting as witness and mentor
