Certificate in Oral Health Education 
Our highly qualified and experienced teaching staff are available to provide support and advice via telephone and email throughout the course and during the supplementary session to make sure all students succeed in gaining their qualification. Success in this qualification will act as a valuable step in accessing Dental Hygiene and Therapy courses.

Course Content
The course follows the syllabus set out by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) and covers the role of the Oral Health Educator and includes topics such as Communication Methods as well
as Oral Diseases and physiology.
Students will:

  • Provide oral health advice in the workplace to a variety of patient groups
  • Complete a Record of Competence (RoC) detailing the advice given
  • Successfully complete a written multiple-choice exam

  • Qualified and GDC Registered Dental Nurse
  • Working in a dental practice
  • Access to a variety of patient groups
  •  support of their dentist acting as witness and mentor

CERTIFICATE IN DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY

Course Information
Duration: 6 Months
Intakes: Ongoing
Sessions: Online course supplemented with 2 Centre based sessions

Academic Level: Certificate

Certificate in Dental Radiography 
Dental Support has been providing dental nursing courses for 20 years and has an excellent reputation among local dentist for providing highly trained and competent dental nurses. This is a 6-month self-directed online course supplemented with 2 2- hour sessions in Centre to obtain support and advice on completing the Record of Competence (RoC) and examination practice.

course and during the supplementary session to make sure all students
succeed in gaining their qualification.
Success in this qualification will act as a valuable step in accessing
Dental Hygiene and Therapy courses.

Course Content 
The course follows the syllabus set out by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) and covers the role of the Dental
Radiography Nurse and includes topics such as Physics and Properties
of Radiation, Radiation Protection and methods of taking different
radiographic views.
Students will:

  •  Take a variety of dental radiographs under the supervision of their
    dentist in the workplace
  • Complete a Record of Competence (RoC) record clinical practice
  • Successfully complete a 90 minutes written multiple-choice exam

CITY & GUILDS LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN DENTAL NURSING

Course Information
Duration: 12 months
Intakes: January, May, September
Sessions: Day release (9.30am – 3.00pm)
Location: Stratford, East London
Awarding Body: City & Guilds
Academic Level: Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing
Fees: £2300 (including City & Guilds registration/exam fee and e-
portfolio access) flexible payment schemes available.

Who should apply:

  • Adult Learners 17+
  • Anyone considering a dental nursing career – assistance will be given in finding a work in a dental surgery
  • Those already working in a dental practice who wish to gain a recognised qualification and register with the GDC

This course meets the statutory requirements of GDC registration for dental nurses working in the UK.

What are my options after qualifying?
There is always a demand for dental nurses and wages depend on location and type of dental nursing involved i.e. private practice, hospital etc.

Sessions: Online course supplemented with ½ day session every 6 weeks

Awarding Body: National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN)
Academic Level: Diploma for Dental Nurses
Fees: £1400 (excludes NEBDN registration/exam fee) flexible payment
schemes available.

Course Requirements:

  • Good level of Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above
  • Good computer skills and access to internet
  • Working in a dental practice
    Who should apply?
  • Unqualified dental nurses already working as dental nurses
  • Qualified but unregistered dental nurses wishing to register with the GDC
  • Overseas qualified dentists wishing to work as dental nurses in the UK

This course meets the statutory requirements of GDC registration for
dental nurses working in the UK.
